Casper Ruud is having his dream run at the ATP Masters 1000 Miami Open. World No. 8 got better of Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals. The two had previously played each other twice in their career, with Zverev leading the head-to-head race 2-0. However, after winning the last match, Ruud now stands at 1-2 in the race.
Turning pro in 2015, Ruud had made it thrice to the semifinals of a Masters 1000 event. However, he wasn’t able to cross the semifinals. At Miami 2022, Ruud has reached his fourth Masters 1000 semifinal and is hoping to reach his first-ever Masters 1000 finals. Post his win over Zverev, Ruud opened up about the win and being in the fourth Masters 1000 semifinal.

He next played a Masters level semifinal at the 2021 Monte Carlo Masters, losing to Andrey Rublev. He last played a Masters semifinal at the 2021 Madrid Masters, losing to Matteo Berrettini.
Keeping all the losses in mind, Ruud hopes to learn from those losses and use them to reach his first Masters final in Miami. “Let’s see if I can take what I have learned from the three previous semi-finals where unfortunately I lost all of them and see if I can turn it around and make the fourth time the lucky charm,” Ruud asserted
