

Frances Tiafoe had a great season in 2023. He won his third ATP title and rose through many ranking points. With his coach’s help, he moved on to a new level altogether. However, a dream partnership has to end someday, and Tiafoe’s ended recently. He is parting ways with Wayne Ferreira and wrote a heartfelt message for him to bid farewell to his guide.

Tiafoe parted with his old coach and has found a new coach. Big Foe and his current coach have partnered together previously, and he has also guided Coco Gauff, which shows Tiafoe is in safe hands.

Frances Tiafoe bids adieu to old coach
Tiafoe and Ferreira had been partners for over three years. With Ferreira, Tiafoe improved by leaps and bounds. He won three ATP 250 titles and reached the semifinal of the US Open in 2022 and the quarterfinal in 2023. However, Tiafoe now feels that he has gotten all he can out of his partnership with the American coach and could benefit from a new guide.

To bid farewell to his coach, he shared a picture of the two in a dap handshake. He also added a heartfelt caption to his Instagram story, “Just wanted to say thanks to this guy. Three years shared together… SHEESH, we’ve had a ton of success, but sadly, we’ve decided to part ways. Thanks for getting me to the player I am today. Nothing but love and respect for you. My guy Wayne Ferreira.”

Tiafoe had a blast with Ferreira, but both realized that it was time to move on to other fields. As he bids adieu to his old coach, he also welcomes his new coach, who is also the former coach of the US Open champion.

Tiafoe welcomes new coach with uncontainable excitement
Tiafoe shared an Instagram post to welcome Diego Moyano to his team. Moyano previously coached Gauff from 2022 till April 2023 and stepped down from the post. Moyano has worked with Tiafoe before, when he was training in the USTA. Now, the two have reunited and aim to take each other to greater heights.

Tiafoe has added a great guide to his roster as he sets his sights on the 2024 season. With the addition of Moyano, we are bound to see certain changes in his game.
