The life of a professional tennis player demands a lot of hard work, dedication, and sacrifices. Sometimes actions come so thick and fast that they don’t get much time to celebrate their wins. But when they do, they still have to keep a lot of things in check to maintain their shape. How did Jannik Sinner celebrate his maiden Grand Slam triumph? Recently, during an interview, Sinner revealed, “The best time I had was flying back with my team. I usually sleep on the flight – but not that night. The plane had a bar and we went there and talked. It’s what I like, sharing the victory with people who helped me get to this point.” But did Sinner take a sip or two of a chilled beer to celebrate his victory?

The 22-year-old shook his head cheerfully and added, “My celebrations are different. If I have a good week, I always eat a hamburger with french fries, one Coke, and tiramisu or ice cream. In Melbourne, I had everything. That’s my guilty pleasure.” Previously during another interview, Jannik Sinner candidly spoke about how structured and focused he is on maintaining his health. Currently, he’s giving a tough chase to Novak Djokovic for his top spot in men’s singles ranking. But has he also started to follow in his footsteps off the court?

During that previous interview, he spoke a word or two on the impact of alcohol on an athlete’s body. Speaking about his earlier celebration from a previous triumph, Jannik Sinner said, “I didn’t celebrate excessively, I didn’t drink, because it’s not good for the body. We went to eat something and then I went back to the hotel.” Even Novak Djokovic once spoke about this same issue during an interview with Vice in 2019.

Jannik Sinner and Novak Djokovic celebrate their victories differently

To be the best, one has to stay fit all the time! And who knows it better than Novak Djokovic? Once during an interview, he spoke about his feelings after consuming alcohol. The Serbian said, “I haven’t been drinking for years. I sometimes did and as an athlete who rarely drinks, which is well known, one drink will throw me into the machine and I don’t know where I am…” Remember the I’M ON A HIIIGHWAAAY TO HEEELL” moment featuring Novak Djokovic in the 2012 AO?

Well, that’s one of those rarest moments when he was caught a little off-guarded after drinking beyond his limit. He was yet again forced to drink a beer after his 2022 Wimbledon triumph by his coach Goran Ivanisevic. However, the Serb later went on to reveal that he “didn’t enjoy it so much.”

Both Novak Djokovic and Jannik Sinner hold the top two spots in the men’s singles ranking. They are perfect examples of how to stay dedicated to the sport and maintain good health to dominate the tennis world. What are your thoughts on these?
