Stanislas Wawrinka has had a troublesome time with injuries over the last year. The Swiss tennis star suffered a foot injury in March 2021. Subsequently, he underwent surgery that ruled him out for the remainder of the last year. Wawrinka returned to the tour after being out for more than 12 months. However, he has had a disappointing run at the tournaments ever since his comeback.
Yesterday, the three-time Grand Slam champion opened his campaign at the French Open 2022. However, he went down fighting against the local wildcard entrant, Corentin Moutet. After the match, Wawrinka vowed to come back stronger after a disappointing run of form.

Further, he endured a similar fate at the Monte Carlo Masters. Earlier this month, he entered the third round of the Rome Masters before losing against Novak Djokovic. As a result of his poor form and long injury absence, Wawrinka’s ranking has dipped to Number 264 in the world.
