The Brazilian wonderkid is just 17, but he has already caught the attention of the tennis world. He is the World Number 1 in the ITF Junior ranking and won the US Open Junior Championship earlier this year. Brazilian sensation idolizes Roger Federer and Carlos Alcaraz

Recently, the 17-year-old Fonseca was involved in an interview with Marca. During that interview, he talked about various subjects – from his early days in tennis to his future prospects. Additionally, he also talked about his idols. Having both a young and an experienced player on his list of players he looks up to, Fonesca might have a bright future ahead.

On being asked about his idols while growing up, Fonseca replied, “My idol was always Roger… Last year I went to the Ferrero Academy in Villena to prepare for Roland Garros. I injured my left wrist & I couldn’t train together with Carlos Alcaraz, although I knew both him & Ferrero. In Rio we practiced.”

Further, he went on to add, “He is an idol at 20 years old. He is almost my age, & he is an inspiration for all the young people of our generation. He has all the weapons, he is always focused…”
