Carlos had a swooshing start to the year and eventually won the Miami Open title. He will now be facing the World No. 1 in the semi-finals of the Madrid Open. Recently, the Serb shared his views on his opponent.

Novak Djokovic praises Carlos Alcaraz
Carlos Alcaraz defeated Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals to move forward to the semi-finals. It was a sensational match as the King of Spain had come to watch the King of Clay. However, Carlos played up to his prime and won the match. And Novak Djokovic admired the rise of the rising star and said, “I must say that in all fronts, on and off the court, he’s great”.

World no. 1 complimented the player and said, “I love to watch him play, as a lot of other players on the tour. He’s fantastic for our sport, no doubt. I think it’s great that we have a young player who is doing so well and giving a new fresh breath to the tennis world.” Novak added, “Seeing that and knowing that he’s a very nice guy, very humble with good values, is a perfect combination.”

The World No.1 has been struggling to find his form. However, he has stayed updated with Carlos’ progress and it seems that the player has won the heart of the world no. 1, as he considered Carlos’ growth in the past six months as “amazing”.

Novak vs Carlos- Who will win?
Carlos Alcaraz Garfia stunned the Spanish crowd when he defeated the King of Clay, Rafael Nadal. He defeated Rafa with a score of 6-2, 1-6, 6-3. Whereas, Novak Djokovic defeated Hubert Hurkacz to reach the semi-finals. The tension is high on the court as Carlos has been performing on top of his game, and Novak is not going to leave any chances to be the winner.
