Nick Kyrgios becomes a controversial figure once again

The US Open is one of the most watched tournaments in sports worldwide. Fans watch the matches of their favorites tirelessly and will defend them to the end of time. Recently, many fans got riled up by Kyrgios as he gave his predictions for the first semifinal of the US Open. He was absolute in his statement that Djokovic will win over Shelton. He wrote, “In my professional opinion. Novak” on the Twitter post of their upcoming match.

His comment did not sit well with any tennis fan scrolling past the post. Shelton fans chastised him to no end and bombarded him with sarcastic and critical comments.

Another fan also felt that the match had received a jinx from Kyrgios and said that the American player was set to win.

One user differed with Kyrgios’ confidence as they stated that Shelton, who resembled a young Rafael Nadal for them, is bound to win.

Noting his statement “as a professional”, one fan reminded everyone of the fact that Kyrgios also believed that Matteo Berrettini would be the only one who could take down Djokovic in Wimbledon. He was proved wrong as Carlos Alcaraz became the only one to defeat the Djoker in Wimbledon in over five years.

One fan had sarcasm dripping in their comment as they said that it was a bold prediction. They followed it up by saying Kyrgios definitely knows tennis, but not when it comes to playing the sport.

Using his statement, another fan gave their “professional opinion”. They said that Shelton would be a wall in front of Djokovic and give him a tough fight. Additionally, they said that Kyrgios is jealous of Shelton and Alcaraz due to their achievements in the sport.

It is clear from the comments that Kyrgios is not a personality who is a favorite of the fans in the slightest. His absence from tour has caused his image to fall down even more, and now people are even doubting his opinions.
