Like a breakup inspires a makeover, a sad defeat at the Olympics has done the same for Carlos Alcaraz. The young Spaniard won silver for his country, battling Novak Djokovic in the final. Now, he’s ready to move on with his new hairstyle. However, not everyone is pleased—Alcaraz’s fans are upset, claiming his barber ruins his haircut every time.

The World No. 3 visited his barber, revealing a brand-new appearance in readiness for the forthcoming hard-court major. The Spaniard showed off his new hairdo, which gives his appearance a more contemporary feel with a clean buzz cut on the sides. A fan took to his Twitter handle to share some pictures of Alcaraz with the new haircut, which has generated both positive and not-so-happy comments regarding the hairstyle.

Tennis fans scold Carlos Alcaraz’s barber

Carlos Alcaraz just won a hard-fought silver medal at the Olympics, but many have already moved on. Fans seem to be disappointed with the results of each of his visits to the barber, taking their frustrations out on the internet. Looking into that, a fan wrote, “oh god just kill me, someone shoot me please i can’t take this life anymore.”

Carlos Alcaraz tried a similar haircut before the French Open, but his fans weren’t impressed. Even though he was excited to be playing in one of the biggest tennis events, his appearances every now and then caused some backlash among admirers.

Another fan related it to the Paris Olympics, and wrote, “Death, taxes, VictorBarber war crimes post a big event.” Not only that, ahead of his season debut at the ATP Buenos Aires on February 14, the 21-year-old was asked which he preferred to win this year: Roland Garros or the Olympics.

With a smile, he replied, “I’d say the Olympic title. It’s a dream to bring gold home to Spain. I’d love to win both, though.” While he did win the Grand Slam, he lost out on the gold on the same clay.

On the other hand, another one shared a clear opinion, “someone needs to get fired really soon.” Alcaraz’s barber, who goes by “victorbarbers5” on Instagram, was happy with his work a few months ago.

On his Instagram account, he posted a mirror photo of Alcaraz seated in a barber chair. The caption read, “The current Roland-Garros champion 🎾🏆🎾 Thank you very much again for the trust and the visit bro.” Every time, fans responded differently to the haircut, albeit they were still unhappy with the outcome, even if the barber was obviously proud of the way he cut.

Following that, a fan commented, “this has to be a federal crime in some states.” On the other hand, last year, when Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic and debuted a shorter haircut, fans went wild over his fresh look, praising it as a stylish change. However, this year’s shorter style has had a contrasting effect.

Lastly, a fan wrote, “I can’t keep defending you.” Curiously, the hairdo he has on now looks a lot like the one he had when he won the French Open in 2023. Fans are curious if this well-known technique would bring him the same good fortune as he gets ready for the US Open this season. Time will tell whether history repeats itself or not.

Nevertheless, what are your thoughts on the new haircut? Do let us know in the comment section below.
