In May, Novak got into a heated argument with Lahyani in Rome
During the match between Novak Djokovic and Holger Rune at the Italian Open, Mohamed Lahyani played the role of the chair umpire. And he was taking too long to announce the scores in Italian and then translating it into English. This caused Novak to get furious at him. He lashed out at Lahyani. Furthermore, the Serbian legend asked him if he was acting.
In fact, Rune was also angry at Lahyani for being slow in announcing scores. The young Norwegian asked Lahyani if he even gets punished when he makes a mistake on the court. Rune’s question pointed out the differences in penalties for players and officials during matches. Last but not least, Rune asked Lahyani to respect the players.
