However, this resilience and dedication are in his blood. The tennis sensation recently credited his mother on the occasion of National Nurses Day who has played an inspirational role in his life.

The likes of LeBron James have inspired the American player. However, it is his mother that has held the torch of leading by example since his childhood. Despite having different professions, Tiafoe has picked up the best traits from her personality.

Frances Tiafoe pays a heartfelt tribute to his mother on National Nurses Day 

The importance of doctors and nurses came into the major spotlight during the COVID-19 pandemic. The selfless service was commendable and one such person amongst these people was the mother of Frances Tiafoe.

Having a strong upbringing under a nurse mother influenced the life of Tiafoe in a positive manner. On the occasion of National Nurse Day, Tiafoe left a heartfelt message for his mother.

In an interview with The Player’s Tribune, he stated how having a nurse mom was cool. He stated, “Any time you got sick she was right there to make you better, real quick. And any time we’d cough, Mom would be sure to make sure we were all right.”

However, it was during the COVID-19 pandemic that Tiafoe saw the selfless resilience of his mother. He stated, “But … man … fast-forward to 2020 and having your mom be a nurse … it’s scary.” He told his mother, “Mom, you gotta sit this one out. Please.” He reminisced about how his mother has always been so passionately serious about her work. 

Shifting the limelight to his mother, he stated how people put players on a pedestal because of their hard work. However, he stated, “Those same attributes are a part of all different types of work.” Complimenting his mother’s work he stated, “You need a calm head to make decisions that, in the end, are way more important than a tennis match.”

Later on, he even got to meet LeBron James. In an interview with ESPN, he confessed he was very nervous to meet him. The NBA legend has been a source of inspiration for Tiafoe because of the legacy he has built for 20 years. However, when James complimented Tiafoe for his performance, world no. 12 could not hide his happiness.
