Even for the Bulgarian, the season was quite decent. He had been consistent throughout the year with a win percentage of 66.6%. The winner of the ATP Finals 2017, reached the finals of the event this year but fell short of Novak Djokovic in the Grand Finale. Despite the huge improvement in his performance, he failed to win any title this season. Now, he’ll look to pounce on his opponents next year and win a Grand Slam next season. The former number 3 had faced Novak Djokovic thrice this year and has lost on all the occasions. He added, “Then the rest is just mental and physical. At the end of the day, you know that we can compete and play to our potential each time we play against each other, that’s the best part of our sport. Hopefully, you get a few more chances to play and see where you are at the moment and see what you can do better.” 

Beating the world number will surely be the biggest challenge for the Bulgarian next season. Dimitrov has managed to win only 1 out of their last 13 encounters. But when it comes to the next challenger, Dimitrov has beaten Carlos Alcaraz once this year taking their H2H margin to 3:1 in favor of the Spaniard. The highest-ranked Bulgarian is quite proud of his overall season. It’ll be interesting to see whether he can hold the momentum in 2024. Dimitrov on Djokovic & Alcaraz rivalry

Both the Serbian and Spaniard have dominated the Grand Slam events this season where Djokovic won 3 and Alcaraz won 1 out of them. Dimitrov faced both players this year and said he believes there is no real comparison between them. According to him, both are different players of different generations.
