Grigor Dimitrov displayed fantastic tennis at the Miami Open. The Bulgarian player achieved back-to-back victories against Hubert Hurkacz, Carlos Alcaraz, and Alexander Zverev to set up a final against Jannik Sinner. However, he couldn’t overcome the Italian player, but he had a ball of a time in the city, but still hoped he had one more drink from the fountain of youth.

While Dimitrov is obviously upset at the fact that he lost the final after immense effort, he will go home with his head held high and looking forward to the upcoming season.

Miami Open final has seen 32-year-old Dimitrov and 22-year-old Sinner, two players from different generations, performing with their best skill sets. The clash ended 6-3, 6-1 in 1 hour 14 minutes having the Italian won over the Bulgarian. As Dimitrov sat down for the post-match presser, he was asked if he had a drink from the Fountain of Youth since he had performed great in the last week. Dimitrov said, “Thank you. I should have had maybe one more glass of that juice. Unfortunately, 10 years made a huge difference today (smiling).”

While the loss became devastating, Dimitrov focused on the wins he accumulated. “But overall, I just want to focus on the positives this week. It’s been a tournament I have not been able to do well I think in the past years. In a way, it was also a goal of mine to come out here and give my best shot.”
