Dimitrov has been an equally talented tennis player as he defeated all four tennis legends in his career. However, his humble opinion brings the grounded and mature side of the Bulgarian ATP Pro. Dimitrov recently sat in a press conference and took fans to a retrospection of his long professional career. On being asked whether he feels “unlucky” about being a part of the generation from which tennis’s four legend players come, he said: “Totally the opposite, actually. Totally the opposite. Very lucky.”

He further said- “How often you say I played in an era against the best players and you have beaten them all? It’s great. I’m sorry, but I can live with that. You know, all that, the titles and all this, yeah, it’s great. But the journey, the ride, it was, for me personally, not having these guys around, it’s a little sad.”

Grigor Dimitrov still speaks for Roger Federer after defeating him in the US Open quarterfinals in 2019

After defeating Federer, Dimitrov offered a humble response in the press conference. He spoke about Federer’s serve and went on to express his feelings about his form. Dimitrov said-“It’s been a while since I’ve been on this court so I was nervous in the first set and he served really well. I think after the second set I felt I was getting a good stride on my shots. We had a really long game in the fourth set and I wanted to make him stay on court for long as possible. For sure he was not at his best at the end. It’s the best of five and anything can happen.”

Grigor Dimitrov’s response about tennis’s Big Four offers his mature career in professional tennis. It also showcases the admiration tennis brings out among the players despite their competition and on-court rivalry.
