Rafael Nadal is taking a short break after winning his 13th Roland Garros crown. It is unlike any other break where players go on vacations to exotic places to relax. The Spainard took part in the Balaeric Golf Championship that was conducted in his home country, and several golfers enjoyed the moment of competing alongside the 34-year-old.
Rafael Nadal just extended his clay-court dominance, but he immediately switched to the grass surface, but with a different sport! He joined 59 others at the Balaeric Golf Championship where the Spaniard achieved an impressive finish.
Rafa’s compatriot and professional golfer Nuria Iturrioz was overjoyed to have played with him in the tournament. Of course, there is nobody in Spain who dislikes Nadal, as he’s a national hero. Here’s what Iturrioz wrote on Twitter:

Will Rafael Nadal switch to golf after calling the curtain on his tennis career?
Tennis fans might think of this as a bizarre notion to bring up. Well, there is a real possibility of it happening. Not stating that Rafa might retire early, but there is a real possibility that he might take up another sport when he finds the right time to retire from tennis.
Golf seems to be the most feasible option for the 20-time Grand Slam champion. Compared to other sports, athletes don’t have to tire themselves out physically and there are several golf competitors who are in their 40s and 50s.

But why would Rafael Nadal choose golf as his next career path? Simply because he’s good at it. Sebastian Garcia won the recently concluded Balaeric Golf Championship, but Rafael Nadal delivered an impressive result.
Nadal secured a massive sixth position in the championship. He competed against 59 others who were mostly professionals and managed to claim a joint sixth spot upon the conclusion of the tournament.

Nadal finished just ten shots behind Garcia, who ended up winning the tournament. The 34-year-old scored 74,74,77 across three rounds and ended with nine over par. Furthermore, these results will contribute to the World Amateur Golf Rankings and Rafa will be awarded gracious points for his Top 10 finish.
