The American tennis player, Sebastian Korda’s extraordinary talent and prowess have already won the admiration of many tennis enthusiasts. However, some recent injuries have hindered his performance during his stellar journey. Due to the same, the young ATP star has missed out on a lot of crucial events including the Indian Wells and Miami Open.
The 22-year-old player’s rankings have also been affected given his withdrawal from various tournaments. But, despite all this, the legendary tennis coach, Rick Macci has been hugely impressed with his remarkable display of the game. While lavishing praise on his young countryman, Serena Williams‘ former coach compared him to the Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer.

The former American tennis player was recently featured in an interview with Tennis-Infinity.com, in which he talked about his young compatriot. Due to his absence from the tour, Sebastian Korda has fallen behind his peers on the men’s circuit. However, Rick Macci still believes his prowess is undeniable as he recently lauded him during the same interview.

Even though his American peers have surpassed him in the ATP rankings, the USPTA coach regards him as the best and most talented among all of them. It’s just because of those injuries Korda has been struggling with his fitness levels during the recent few months. While lauding his young countryman, Macci compared him to the former tennis ace, Roger Federer.

In the process, the 68-year-old coach brought to light some of the similarities in their stellar game styles. Macci said that he has a two-handed backhand on the court like the Swiss Tennis Maestro. He added, “He can win Wimbledon, he can do damage. He might be the most talented of all the Americans.”

Macci also compared Korda to other American tennis players
During the interview, the USPTA national coach acknowledged that a lot of American tennis players are performing greatly on the men’s circuit. He mentioned the names of Frances Tiafoe and Reilly Opelka by calling them the next generation of tennis in their country.
The renowned coach, however, believes that Korda stands out from the other American players on the ATP Tour. Macci also compared him to his rival, Taylor Fritz, who previously asserted that he is currently the best American player in the Netflix tennis documentary.
