Ben Shelton‘s tennis career took off, setting new benchmarks. The 21-year-old American tennis player is one of those players who have brought America back on the tennis map. Recently, the 17th-ranked tennis player’s father shed light on his son’s competitive spirit, which is helping him to achieve success on the court.

However, it’s not just his tennis skills that made him a well-known personality and a great competitor on the tennis court at such a young age. It’s the bravery inside the American player that has made him stand out from the crowd. Let’s take a look at what the doting father has to say about his son’s ambitious personality.

The 21-year-old American tennis player’s father, Bryan Shelton, recently appeared on the ATP Tennis Radio Podcast. Although it was his first podcast, just like any other proud father, he only talked about his son and his love for tennis. In that conversation, there was also a moment when he talked about how the US Open semi-finalist is quite energetic and competitive at whatever he puts his mind to.

He said, “Just high energy, super high energy, emotional at times, you know, fierce competitor, and anything that he did. It could be just, you know, walking across the lawn, you know, he wanted to get there first. love sports, love people, not basketball at all. Very outgoing.”

Along with that, he also stated that even if he goes to a grocery store, he will be the one to run inside and do all the shopping while meeting strangers and having conversations with them. Further, he also mentioned how getting along with people is something that he has seen as his son’s strong suit.

On the other hand, he also highlighted that he and his wife are more introverted, but at the same time, he is not like them. He added, “And you know, he has a lot of personality, much different than me. My wife and I are more introverted, but he’s an extrovert for sure.” Just a few months ago, the former 15th-ranked tennis player oozed confidence during the Laver Cup as he replicated his US Open heroics.

Just before the team event, as the 21-year-old was the newest addition to the team world, he talked about his participation in an interview with Laver Cup. Along with that, highlighted that his level of tennis gets better when his teammates support and cheer for him.
