John McEnroe names Andy Murray amongst the favorites for Wimbledon
Missing out on the clay-court season, Andy Murray kicked off his grass-court campaign at the Surbiton Challenger, suffering a semifinal loss. Not losing hope, he made back the transition from the challenger tour to the ATP tour, playing the ATP 250 Stuttgart. However, an abdominal injury forced the Brit to withdraw from the tournament.
Recovering from the injury, Murray is eyeing a return at the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. While questions are being raised over his fitness, McEnroe has a different view. The legendary player believes Murray could be one of the title contenders. Interacting with a media house, McEnroe said, “If Murray’s fit, I absolutely believe he is one of the contenders.”

Going further in the conversation, McEnroe ended by saying, “If he’s looking at Rafa and Novak, he’s got to be thinking, he’s going to have one last hurrah, I believe. I think that’s entirely conceivable.”
