From his take on modern feminism to his criticism of Russian tennis star Andrey Rublev, everything was criticized by fans. He recently apologized and said that he regretted making comments about Rublev during the 2022 Nitto ATP Finals. Fans have reacted wildly to the new apology by the Greek tennis player.

Stefanos Tsitsipas hadn’t seemed to take Rublev’s victory in the round-robin match at the 2022 Nitto ATP Finals well. He had shared that he was the better player and Rublev won with a few tools in his game. Tsitsipas issued a public apology for such remarks and praised Rublev as a top-tier athlete. However, many fans didn’t feel his feelings were genuine.

Stefanos Tsitsipas criticized Rublev’s skill with a sarcastic remark. The 24-year-old had claimed that he thought he had played better than everyone else. Tsitsipas later clarified his remarks and apologized profusely to the Russian star. He admitted he was mistaken about the Russian’s abilities. However, fans didn’t react in favor of the Greek tennis player.

The fans mildly cringe at his sincere attempts to gain validation online. At Roland Garros 2021, had became the first Greek Grand Slam finalist. Additionally, he advanced to the semifinals of the 2019 and 2021 Australian Open. Tsitsipas’ 2022 season came to a close at the match last week, where family issues overshadowed a round-robin loss to Rublev.

Rublev had a different opinion of the Greek tennis player
Andrey Rublev informed the press that he didn’t agree with the comments. He expressed his displeasure when asked about Tsitsipas’ remarks and shared that the Greek’s forehand was not superior to his.

Tsitsipas had previously defeated Rublev in Astana last month and Madrid in May. This was Rublev’s first victory over Tsitsipas this year.
