Even if it hurts Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer fans to admit it, the truth remains established. Novak Djokovic played an equally important role, if not more, in making what tennis is today. With his aggressive baseline play and jaw-dropping backhand, he has made watching the sport a treat for the eye. And so his former coach, Boris Becker, reminds tennis enthusiasts to grab the opportunity to watch the Serbian legend in action while they can.

Djokovic is not eternally going to play on the court. Like Federer, Nadal and Djokovic will step away from the sport in the near future. And Becker wants fans not to regret missing the incredible performances of one of the greatest players to play the sport.

Watching your favorite player is an experience no one wants to miss, but with time, fans notice the changes in their stamina, their playing style, and their injuries. Becker too noticed a few things in his former player during his run at the Australian Open and he wants to make one thing sure.

In Eurosport Germany’s Matchball Becker show, Becker talked about Djokovic’s career. He stated, “I don’t know if a tennis player can achieve something like that again.” Asserting his point, he said, “We are watching tennis history live here. We all take it for granted: The Djoker, he will do it… No, guys – that’s not normal!”

Stating some hard facts for his fans, he said, “Novak is getting older, too. He is now 35 years old. You could also notice on the court that he was catching his breath a bit more than usual. Let us enjoy it while we can see it because at some point it will be over.”

Fans have not been able to get over the retirement of Roger Federer. And watching Nadal suffer because of his injuries multiple times is torture in itself. To come to face the reality that Djokovic is also nearing his retirement days is going to take some pondering.
