John McEnroe is a legend in the sport of tennis and is one of the most followed tennis personalities in the world. Also, the legendary American never shies away from giving his opinion. Usually the 63-year-old shares his opinion on tennis-related issues, but at times he has expressed his political views as well.

Recently he appeared on the Bill Maher’s podcast, Club Random. The two discussed various aspects of his career as a sports person and life after that. However, when the discussion turned towards politics, the 63-year-old did not hold back in his criticism of Donald Trump yet again.

John McEnroe calls the former President Donald Trump a narcissist

When the discussion turned to politics, the former tennis player spoke about Trump and had some strong words to describe the business magnate.

Speaking about Trump, McEnroe was surprised by the kind of support he receives from his followers. Further talking about his behavior, the 63-year-old said,

“President Donald Trump would admit, I think he would admit, he’s a narcissist. It’s not even a surprise.”

He further said,

“I just do things for me that are great for you. Everything that’s great for me is great for you. But then he has got the people.”

Notably, the tennis legend has been vocal in criticizing Trump on many occasions.

McEnroe shows his concern for Naomi Osaka

Ever since Naomi Osaka took a break from tennis, citing mental health issues, the Japanese star has received criticism for being emotionally fragile. The 24-year-old has given a below-par performance after her return and was the target of trolls and critics for the same. However, the seven-time Grand Slam champion, McEnroe, came forward in support of Osaka.

Having faced similar issues in his playing days, the American expressed his sympathy for Osaka. McEnroe feels the 24-year-old is unfairly targeted for a mere decision she took, which she felt was right.
