Alcott’s locker room chat with Monfils

Australian Open released a video of Dylan Alcott on their social media account. In the video, Dylan Alcott spoke about his locker room conversation with Monfils. 

He started by saying, “I was in the locker room with Gael Monfils, he won in straight (sets), we’re both, like, cooked. I was like, “We are old!” and he’s like 35.”

A reporter asked the Quad Wheelchair player if Monfils won. To which he replied, “We were both like this, we were both laughing, going: “Oh my god. I’m the oldest man in this world.” And he wants to keep playing! What is he doing?”

He ended the video on a high note, praising Monfils, calling him a ‘weapon’. However, he also announced his retirement from professional tennis.
