The Laver Cup’s chairperson and Roger Federer’s manager, Tony Godsick, showed his keenness in making Alcaraz part of Team Europe. He said, “Captain Borg would love to have him on the team, as would we.”

“I know some discussions have taken place. The indication I’ve heard from the team is that he’s excited about learning more. I’m optimistic that he’s going to play. He would be an incredible asset, not only this year, but in the future. So we’re really excited about making sure that he’s on Team Europe.”

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have given their assurance that they will be a part of Team Europe for the 2022 Laver Cup. It would be Federer’s first tournament after his injury in 2021 Wimbledon. If the all-conquering Spaniard can join them, he will not only play with his idols but also two of the world’s best.
