Novak Djokovic made headlines worldwide when he was denied entry to the 2022 Australian Open. The Serbian national was deported from the country on account of not following vaccination guidelines. He has still refused to take the vaccine and missed out on many tournaments because of it. Djokovic will also miss the upcoming Indian Wells Masters and the Miami Open unless there are drastic changes in the US government’s vaccine mandate. It has prompted John Isner to comment on the situation.
Djokovic was banned from several competitions last year due to his refusal to get vaccinated. He missed out on the US Open, the ‘Sunshine Doubles’, Cincinnati Open, etc. The tennis world was divided on this issue.
