It is no secret that the Djoker goes into another gear when playing slams. The Serbian star is unrelenting when he is playing for the biggest trophies. Medvedev is aware of this and remembers the time he beat the Djoker in the slam. But now, he is a little wary of his opponent. Medvedev explained that Djokovic is never the same and only improves after losing. Therefore it will be a difficult fight to victory.

When asked about his the grand slam final rematch, Medvedev said, “Yeah, that’s what I’m saying, against Novak, it’s the same. He is always better than previous time he plays. For example, I beat him US Open final; he beat me in Bercy in a great match. Carlos beat him Wimbledon; he beat him in Cincinnati. Novak is going to be his best version on Sunday, and I have to be the best-ever version of myself if I want to try to beat him.”

He further talked about his preparation for the upcoming final. As per him, the only point which can improve his strategy is that Djokovic is never the same. Therefore, he will have to go into the match remembering that he will be a different individual.

So I have to use it knowing that he’s going to be 10 times better than he was that day. And I have to be, if I want to still beat him, 10 times better than I was that day. That’s what I’m going to try to do.”
