Watching Andy Murray play one of the best matches of his career yesterday at the Australian Open captured the hearts of tennis fans around the world. The British tennis star who could not perform well because of his surgeries showed the world that he is indeed back on the biggest stage. Despite losing the first two sets, he turned the match in his favor. And well, lasting on the court for almost six hours gave rise to one or two nasty jokes that even Murray couldn’t stop himself from cracking.

Fans cracked up both on and off the court over the unexpected response from the Scot during the post-match interview.

The three-time Grand Slam champion has once again brought life to his game and his fans could not be more elated. Adding on to that, keeping his humor intact, he gave tennis fans yet another moment to talk about.

In the post-match court-side interview, talking about how he turned the match around, he said, “I did start playing as the match went on, and yeah, I have a big heart.” And the reporter added, “Well Andy if I may say you have a big everything, I think.”

Murray had the best quirky reply, as he said, “I’m not sure if my wife would agree.”

Fans went crazy about this comment both on and off the court. One fan stated on twitter, “frame it, put it in the Louvre.” While the other one tweeted,

Former tennis legend apologized to Murray

Mats Wilander, the former world no. 1, had taken his statement back after seeing Murray’s performance in the first round of the Australian Open. Andy Murray had undergone twin hip surgeries in 2018 and 2019. Consequently, it affected his performance and people thought this was it.

Apparently, it is not. Wilander stated that Andy Murray has proved him wrong. He complimented him for staying resilient and getting rewarded for his jaw-dropping performance in the first round against Matteo Berrettini.
