This isn’t the first time when Holger Rune’s affinity for Novak Djokovic has come to light. Back when the young Dan’s mother got involved in a conversation about the legend, she narrated an incident that showed Rune’s affinity for the Serb, right from his younger days.

“When Holger came there (Mouratoglou Academy) 13 years old, and he’s doing fitness beside one of the top guys it’s Novak was there doing fitness, you know, a little kid just watching and, and he was so inspired, and he came and he said, I want to do it as fast I want to put in this effort I want to do so in that time,” she said, marking a moment that showed Rune envying the Serb’s skillset.
