Danish tennis player Holger Rune spoke about one of the barging issues of professional tennis. In a recent conversation following the rumor of Serena Williams‘s ex-coach Rennae Stubbs being his coach, the Danish player spoke about the fewer female coaches in the scene.

Rune’s professional ties with coach Severin Luthi ended after the Australian Open in 2023. After that, he appointed the legendary Boris Becker as his coach. However, within three months, Becker stepped down from his role, stating his other commitments. At this moment, when Rune devoted his objective to finding a great coaching team, Serena Williams’s ex-coach, Rennae Stubbs, jokingly offered her help. After this, Holger Rune brings up the issue of fewer female coaches in professional tennis.

Rennae Stubbs spoke about mitigating the stereotypical negative outlook for female coaches. She said in her show The Power Hour, “here is no doubt I could step on a court with a male player and help him, and I would have no problems saying that to anyone. To me, there is no difference between a woman coaching a male than coaching a female because men are coaching women, so what’s the difference? ”
