Danish tennis prodigy Holger Rune‘s mother revealed why Rune has shifted to Monaco. This tennis star from Denmark attracted a lot of fans through his amazing performance on the court. In his professional tennis journey, Rune’s mother has been a pillar of strength for the tennis star. Now she finally speaks about the hardest decision of Rune’s life, which is shifting from his country to Monaco for a better tennis environment.

Holger Rune’s mother has been very active about her son’s tennis career. Even Boris Becker spoke about her contributions to Rune’s life.  Now she again opens up about Rune’s decision to permanently move to Monaco.

In a recent podcast, Holger Rune’s mother went candid about her son’s choices. She said- “Holger moved a couple of years ago to Monaco because it’s tough being a tennis player in Denmark because there are not many tennis players so it’s it’s tough to put up practice and stuff like this in a country where all the older guys they’re at work all day and they play a little tennis in the afternoon so it’s much easier to be in Monaco for him.”

Rune’s mother’s comment expressed that choosing to stay in Monaco was hard for Rune. It was not his choice but more like a need for his professional tennis career. Given that Denmark doesn’t offer many opportunities to improvise in tennis, Rune had to shift to Monaco.

Rune’s ex-coach Boris Becker once stated that Rune’s mother is one of the most important people on the team. He said- “The most important person in the team is mother Aneke; without her, nothing works. I’m on the phone with her four times a day at the moment to find out exactly how Holger is doing.”

Becker’s statement revealed that Rune’s mother tried her best to offer her son all the amenities he needed for his professional tennis endeavors. This support from his family is the best gift in Holger Rune’s life that keeps him moving forward in his goals.
