She said- “Holger moved a couple of years ago to Monaco because it’s tough being a tennis player in Denmark because there are not many tennis players so it’s it’s tough to put up practice and stuff like this in a country where all the older guys they’re at work all day and they play a little tennis in the afternoon so it’s much easier to be in Monaco for him.”
Rune’s mother’s comment expressed that choosing to stay in Monaco was hard for Rune. It was not his choice but more like a need for his professional tennis career. Given that Denmark doesn’t offer many opportunities to improvise in tennis, Rune had to shift to Monaco.

Rune’s ex-coach Boris Becker once stated that Rune’s mother is one of the most important people on the team. He said- “The most important person in the team is mother Aneke; without her, nothing works. I’m on the phone with her four times a day at the moment to find out exactly how Holger is doing.”
