The Laver Cup is an international men’s team tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts between Team Europe and Team World. The tournament has taken place every year since 2017 and will return this year.

Like its previous versions, the Laver Cup will once again feature a good amount of prize money for its players. Being the tournament of Roger Federer, it will attract many sponsors to improve its finances.

The format of the Laver Cup calls for three singles matches and one doubles match on each day. Each win on the first day is worth one point, two points on the second day, and three points on the third day. While short, the tournament tests the abilities of its players to the full extent. Therefore, it is essential that the players receive a good sum for the tournament.

What is the total prize purse for the 2023 Laver Cup?

The total prize pool for the 2023 Laver Cup is the same as it has been since 2021, which is $2.25 million. The players in the winning team receive $250,000 in addition to their participation fee. Players in the losing team will take home $125,000 and a participation fee, which is based on their rankings.

Last year, players from Team World took home the winning amount; this year, they will aim to repeat their feat. Taylor Fritz, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Diego Schwartzman, Frances Tiafoe, Alex de Minaur, Jack Sock, and Tommy Paul were all part of the winning team and pocketed $250,000.

Who sponsors the Laver Cup?

The Laver Cup was founded by Team8, which is the management company of Roger Federer. It was borne of a collaboration between Jorge Paulo Lemann, a former Davis Cup player from Brazil, and Tennis Australia along with TEAM8. The biennial Ryder Cup golf competition inspired Roger Federer to design a tennis team tournament.

The championship has several sponsors who help improve its presence. Rolex is the founding partner of the tournament, with UBS and Mercedes-Benz as its global sponsors. The global suppliers of the championship are UPS, Service Now, Moët & Chandon, On, Wilson, Uniqlo, Longi, Cleveland Clinic and Steve Frugal’s.

Event Sponsors for the tournament comprise of Beedie, OFX, Maestro Dobel Tequila, Fairmont, Voss, Destination Vancouver, and Global BC. The number of sponsors only goes to show the appeal of the tournament. Along with the star players, it is worth to watch the championship.
