An enchanted McEnroe

After speaking about the magnitude of skills the 22-time Grand Slam champion harbors, McEnroe addressed how impressively he balances his personal and professional life. He compared his own behavior towards his family with Nadal’s and said, “It’s not like I didn’t love my parents, I did. I didn’t want them around all the time at a certain point.”

Thereafter, the seven times Grand Slam champion added, “I am amazed. I look at Nadal. They are there all the time and I am like, how the hell does this guy do this? He is around family 24/ 7, it appears. It works for him big time.”

The legendary Spaniard’s family is often present in his high-profile matches. Though their presence in no way adversely affects his performances. For example, in the Wimbledon quarterfinals where he incurred a gruesome abdominal injury, Nadal’s family demanded him to leave the court. Even so, he completed the match and came out victorious.

A missed opportunity for Rafael Nadal

The former World no.1, after securing a lead over Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in Grand Slam victories at the Australian Open, reigned in the clay courts of Paris. He outclassed the Norwegian tennis ace Casper Ruud to claim the trophy and was on his way to securing an unprecedented Calender Grand Slam.
