Roger Federer became a fashion icon during his prime in tennis. After he retired from the sport, he doubled down on this side of his personality and even acted as the co-chair of the Met Gala. While he is one of the most fashionable sports personalities now, Federer did not always have a keen sense of fashion. One can corroborate the claim by seeing a picture of young Federer taken in the Orange Bowl Cup.

While he was completely blonde during the Cup, Federer, as a throwback, posted a picture of an even more outrageous hairstyle on his Instagram page. But now, blonde hair for Federer is nowhere in sight.

In 2021, Lew Brewer, who had been the director of the Orange Bowl tournament for quite a long time, decided to retire from his post. The USTA posted an article where they interviewed Brewer as he looked back on his long career as director of the tournament. Interestingly, one of the highlights of his career organizing the tournaments was seeing a blonde Roger Federer.

Federer won the tournament in 1998 when he was 17 years old and had a head full of blonde hair. Brewer further revealed that he decided to do it himself just a night before the final. “And he didn’t do a very good job, I might add,” Brewer said with a hearty chuckle. A picture of the 20-time grand slam champion holding the Orange Bowl and leaning on a palm tree while he was clad in an all-white outfit was also shared by the USTA.

This wasn’t the only glimpse of a blonde Federer that the world got. The Swiss Maestro himself went on to share a picture that was even more hilarious than the one he took after his Orange Bowl win.

Federer shares pre-Mirka picture

Earlier in 2020, the former number 1 decided to surprise his fans by sharing a jaw-dropping picture of himself. It didn’t fascinate the fans just because he looked dapper. Rather, the hilarious part of it fascinated his fans more. The picture showed Federer with frosted tips. He accompanied the blonde hair with a black suit, a blue shirt, and a broad tie.

In the caption of the post, he said, “Reminding everyone there are better days ahead😜😁“. He also added the hashtag “preMirka” in the post, suggesting his wife would never let him color his hair blonde. Although he laughs embarrassingly at the picture, he gives us an interesting look into the past.
