American tennis star Frances Tiafoe is a massive fan of the NBA. He was even part of the star-studded NBA All-Star Celebrity game last year. Several big names from the world of sports and entertainment took part in this mega event in Salt Lake City. Tiafoe was also joined by his girlfriend, Canadian tennis player Ayan Broomfield in that match. But how are Frances Tiafoe’s basketball skills?

Dallas Wings’ WNBA star Arike Ogunbowale recently caught up with the tennis star at the Dallas Open. She spoke about Tiafoe’s ‘extraordinary’ basketball skills during an interview on the courtside.

WNBA star says Frances Tiafoe can get at least 10 points if he gets the chance to play in an NBA game

Frances Tiafoe spoke about Arike Ogunbowale during his recent interview. He said, “She was in my All-Star team, so we got really close from that point on. And, we had some good nights out here in Dallas (laughs). She’s definitely one of my very good friends. We speak all the time, we support each other. Uhm, Support women in sports. She’s one of the best bucket-getters in the league. So, you guys need to check out some Dallas Wings in the summertime. I’ll definitely be out here and get behind the women in sports.“

How are Tiafoe’s basketball skills and what tips does Arike Ogunbowale have for him? She replied, “He always plays. If you put him in an NBA game, he’ll get at least 10 points. But I would just let him pick 10. We know that’s not true, but I’d let him pick 10. But he loves his middies, he thinks his middies are A1. So I’ll give up on that.“

Frances Tiafoe had said earlier that playing in the Celebrity All-Star game of the NBA was a “life-changing” moment. He even made a couple of buckets during the match, which later on proved to be quite vital in securing Team Dwayne’s 81-78 victory over Team Ryan. The tennis star even chipped in with a teardrop shot from close range and later on scored a mid-range jump shot in the third quarter of the All-Star game. He surely has that game in him, isn’t it?

Tiafoe recalls the moment when he got selected for the Celebrity All-Star Game

Frances Tiafoe expressed his inner emotions after getting to know of his selection for the mega event at Salt Lake City last year. He said, “That was one of my things, I was like ‘Look, you guys got all the connections. If I break through and do something crazy, I want to be in the All-Star [Game]. When they were able to get that done, I was like a kid in the candy shop, man.“

Recently he paid a visit to a match between Iowa Hawkeyes and Maryland Terrapins in the NCAA women’s basketball game on Sunday. He even met the rising basketball star, Caitlin Clark at the college game and also took some pictures with her.
