It was Medvedev who once again clinched the win over Tsitsipas, increasing his dominance over the Greek with seven victories compared to the latter’s two. Tsitsipas managed to stay close to Medvedev but always felt the heat on his service games throughout the contest. The Greek had the variety, but inconsistency hurt his chances against the no.2 seed.

With this victory, Medvedev moves on to the final, where he will try to stop Rafael Nadal from winning his 21st slam title. Coming to Tsitsipas, the world no.4 was asked about his opinion on Medvedev’s game and his on-court spirit in general.
“Yeah, he’s a great competitor. He runs like a marathon runner, he can run for hours and hours. I’m not sure myself if that’s something that can last very long, having to run so much. Speaking from experiences like other players and champions, Grand Slam champions that I’ve seen, it had a huge impact to their body.”
