American tennis player, Taylor Fritz is having quite an amazing year. From reaching the fourth round of a Grand Slam for the first time to win his first Masters 1000 tournament, Fritz is having a tremendous season. Currently, the player is playing in Miami Masters, as he is aiming for the ?Sunshine Double?. Earlier, before the Indian Wells Finals, he suffered an ankle injury. Somehow, he managed to overcome the injury and win against Rafael Nadal at the Indian Wells final. In a recent press conference, he talked about his injury and more.

Taylor Fritz was happy with his fitness in the first match at Miami Open

In his first match, the American tennis player played a tough match against Mikhail Kukushkin, which he?won?at the end by 6-3,5-7,6-3. However, after the match, he talked about his injury and if it was still bothering him.?

?Well, obviously, I can’t be getting injections before each match and numbing it up. None of that this week. That was kind of a one-time thing for the final last week. We have just been staying on top of it with trying to mob it as much as possible, keep the joint as loose as possible, lots of anti-inflammatories just to try to bring down a lot of inflammation,??Fritz revealed about his injury.?

Later, he explained that he felt some discomfort when serving a ball. ?Prior to the match, I was feeling a bit of clicking in it when I was serving. Serving has been the biggest hurdle, I’d say. But on the court, probably it’s just the adrenaline or whatever, but really, on the court, didn’t think about it once. Really happy that it wasn’t an issue today at all,? the American further said.?

Fritz is eying for the Sunshine Double

A week ago, the majority of people predicted a Rafael Nadal win at the Indian Wells final. However, Fritz surprised everyone and beat Rafa in straight sets to clinch his first Indian Wells title. Now, he is definitely eying for the Miami Open as well, to complete the ?Sunshine Double?.?

Earlier, after winning his match, he wrote about winning the ?Sunshine Double? on camera. Later, he clarified it as a joke. However, it was not a joke to many fans, as it?s not impossible for him to win. It?s just, he has to stay fit to win it all. In the next round, he will play his fellow compatriot, Tommy Paul.?
