Serbian tennis great Novak Djokovic is in great form. After his title run at the Wimbledon Championships 2022, the 35-year-old clinched the titles at Tel Aviv Open and the Astana Open. Currently, the Serb is playing in the Paris Masters. Here also the 35-year-old has had an excellent start to the campaign.

Djokovic registered straight-set victories in his first two matches. Meanwhile, the Serb also appeared for an interview with the ‘Tennis Channel’. Here he discussed various things about tennis and his career. An interesting thing he talked about was his interest in Capoeira.

Djokovic enjoys learning new things

Capoeira is a unique kind of martial art that originated in Brazil. Apart from the fighting skills, it also includes dance and music elements. Speaking about his interest in Capoeira, the 35-year-old said, “I don’t use it as my daily routine or training regime, but I like to learn new things. I like to innovate not just for professional reasons but also for private reasons.”

Djokovic further added, “I always wanted to learn how to fight. Even though I did have street fights when I was younger. I wanted to get more professional in those fights. I like the martial arts and the dancing part and the music in Capoeira. It’s a mix of everything.”

After registering a thumping win against Karen Khachanov, Djokovic has made his way to the quarterfinal of the Paris Masters. Up next, he will face Lorenzo Musetti from Italy.

Djokovic missed most of the year’s tour because of his stand against vaccination. The 35-year-old could not play all tour-level matches in the US and also sat out of the Australian Open. He had a good outing in the French Open as well. However, Rafael Nadal outclassed him in the quarterfinal.

Ever since, the 35-year-old has shown sheer class and is yet to lose a match. After the quarterfinal run at Roland Garros, he had yet another title run in Wimbledon. Further, he missed the US hard court session and returned with titles in Tel Aviv and Astana Open. His winning streak continues in the Paris masters as well.
