However, Rune couldn’t hide his disappointment after the loss. He explained that he wasn’t feeling well, but his comments caused a debate among fans and critics about how to handle defeat gracefully.

Alcaraz achieved a hard-fought victory over Rune, winning the match with a score of 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-4. The young Spaniard’s success was his 45th win of the year, and he became the youngest man since Novak Djokovic in 2007 to reach the semifinals of Wimbledon.

The young Danish player humbly said, ?I didn?t feel the best in today?s match. But I did my best not to disappoint the crowd. I tried to fight til the end. Didn?t feel as I felt the other days when I woke up this morning. But it?s a part of it..?

He further added ?This morning I didn?t feel very good when I woke up. But it?s normal. You don?t feel good every time you wake up. I had to do everything I could to feel better for the match. But I didn?t have the same energy as normal. I tried everything I could..?
These comments seemed sincere to a lot of people however it had an adverse effect on the viewers, resulting in fans calling Rune out on poor sportsmanship.

While Rune’s comment about his physical condition may have appeared honest and sincere, some tennis fans criticized his reaction, calling him a “sore loser.” Social media buzzed with different opinions, as Rune’s supporters defended his honesty, while others believed he should have accepted defeat gracefully.
