Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is in brilliant form. The 27-year-old recently made it to the final of the Wimbledon Championship 2022. Carrying his form to the American hard court swing, the Aussie is doing well in the Washington Open as well.

The Australian has advanced to the semifinal slot after a thrilling victory against Frances Tiafoe. In an enthralling two and half hour encounter, Kyrgios defeated Tiafoe 6-7,7-6, 6-2.

Later, the Wimbledon finalist spoke to the media.

Nick Kyrgios doesn’t care about rankings

The Australian tennis star made it to the finals of Wimbledon. However, it didn’t help his ATP ranking because the tournament was played without ranking points. The 27-year-old currently holds the rank of world number 63. Speaking about the same, he said,

“The ranking is not a problem for me. I know it will never reflect my level. That’s normal, and I don’t care. I’ve never had a full season.” (Translated using google translate)

Even after performing well, the Aussie has never made it to the top 10 of the ATP rankings. His best rank till date is the world number 13 spot that he reached in 2016.

Kyrgios is up against Mikael Ymer in the Semifinal

After an intense battle with Frances Tiafoe, Kyrgios will be playing Mikael Ymer in the semifinal. The Swedish tennis star defeated Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland to confirm his semifinal berth.
