Roger Federer has been off the court for a while now and the itch to see him on the court is strong for his fans. The player is set to make a comeback at the Laver Cup this September. However, the Swiss Maestro has made it clear that his life is more than just being a great tennis player.

The player expressed himself more than what his fans may see him and what all brings him joy and makes him fulfilled.
When will Roger Federer retire?
The Swiss Maestro opens up about his retirement plans in an interview. He said, “I love to win, but if you’re not competitive anymore, then it’s better to stop.” However, this does not phase the player because he feels that other things bring him joy.
"I am a winner lover, but if you're not competitive any more, then it's better to stop. I don't think I need the tennis. I am happy with the little things."

Along the same lines, he said, “I don’t think I need the tennis. I am happy with the little things, like when my son does something right and when my daughter comes home with a good grade.”
Roger Federer has won grand slam titles on every surface including a solitary title at the Roland Garros. Wimbledoncelebrated the legendary player at the centenary celebration of the centre court this year. He reigned over the grass-court and won eight grand slam titles at the Wimbledon Championships.
What is Federer planning to do after his retirement?
20-time grand slam champion is the crowd’s favorite not only for his on-court performance but for his off-court chivalry as well. However, Federer sees himself than his expertise over the court.

He said, “Tennis is part of, but not my entire identity.” Nonetheless, that does not make the player lose his competitive spirit.
The Swiss ace aims to explore other venues, after the bidding adieu to tennis. He added, “I want to be and remain successful, and put a lot of energy into business–probably give more than I should sometimes, but that can also be done outside of sports. I know a professional career can’t last forever and that’s okay.”
