Although the 25-year-old tennis player is one of the strongest Americans on the court, becoming a tennis player was not part of his life objective.

Taylor Fritz never dreamed of becoming a tennis player
The ninth-ranked tennis player, who lost to Novak Djokovic in the Western and Southern Open quarterfinals, disclosed a startling secret about having a tennis-related prior life. In an interview with Haute Living, Fritz disclosed that he never thought of getting into tennis but is now ranked in the top 10 tennis rankings.

He said, “I feel like I always had the idea that it was cool to do what your parents did [whereupon I have to interject, said literally no kid ever — no disrespect, Fritz fam], so I played tennis. And I liked tennis, but to be honest, I went through periods when I was younger where I hated it and didn’t want to play because I enjoyed other sports much more.”

Yes, both of his parents, Kathy May and Guy Fritz, have played tennis professionally at some point in their lives. In such a way, his mother was also a former top 10 player, while his father coached some young tennis minds toward victory.

Being born to tennis parents, the 25-year-old has always watched tennis, since he was a little child. While talking about his life before turning pro, he revealed how he only wanted to be an athlete, whether it be in any sport, including tennis.
