Shirley, a former tennis player herself, had been instrumental in nurturing her children’s talents. As Liam had climbed the ranks of professional tennis, the pressure and expectations had only grown. Facing a formidable opponent like Casper Ruud, who had been in excellent form in recent months, had only heightened those nerves.

In the post-match interview, Liam said, ?My mum does not like watching. I said to my mum yesterday, ?Look I have already won ?80k, you can chill out?.?

He went on to add that he is going to enjoy the rest of the day, enjoying his win and celebrating as much as he can. And after that, he will get ready for the third round tomorrow at the championship. In his third round, he will be playing against Denis Shapovalov.
