As the ATP tour is currently done with Melbourne, it is now time for the players to gather around on the next destination. The ATP Rotterdam is setting the stage for the participants but, it seems like the tournament director’s mind is lost in a moment when the Swiss Maestro Roger Federer used to rule the courts with his amazing rallies.

As the event prepares to welcome the ATP top rankers, event director Richard Krajicek recently expressed his feelings about missing Roger Federer’s presence on the scene.

As the start of the Rotterdam tournament approaches, the tournament director Richard Krajicek feels like an important piece is missing. Recently, he expressed his sentiments about the absence of tennis legend Roger Federer.

The Swiss tennis Maestro who retired from professional tennis in 2022, has had a major mark on the event throughout his journey. Krajicek mentioned, “I am satisfied with this year’s Rotterdam field. But I miss Federer. He was a class apart.”

Federer’s amazing presence on the courts of Rotterdam has graced him with a joint record for most singles titles (2005, 2012, and 2018). This not only justifies the director’s feelings of missing Federer but also acts as a reminder for the fans and members of the tennis community.

Federer remembers his amazing journey in Rotterdam

Roger Federer has had numerous memorable moments in Rotterdam. As the tournament is about to commence in just a few days, the maestro’s words of remembering the amazing moments that he lived on the courts of the tournament highlight a mutual feeling. “Rotterdam is one of my favorite tournaments to play. I have very fond memories of it tournament, especially on my debut in 1999 and my titles in 2005 and 2012,” said Federer.

Remembering the amazing opportunities that the tennis legend received in the face of the tournament in Rotterdam, he added, “Rotterdam offers me a good preparation for the tournament in Indian Wells and it brings me back to Europe, so that my children can ski in the snow.”

As the 42-year-old keeps himself away from the tournament, it remains to be seen if he comes forward to grace the event with his presence and add a layer of excitement to the arena.
