Roger Federer is perhaps the most iconic and significant name the world of tennis has ever come across. His skills on the tennis court were arguably second to none. But what makes him so universally loved and revered by everyone is probably the fact that he is as much a devoted family man as he is on the court. Despite achieving such cosmic heights on the court, the 20-time grand slam champion has always prioritized family.
Federer’s love and affection aren’t only limited to his family. It extends to his colleagues and peers as well. Once dubbed ‘Baby Federer’ by pundits due to his similarities with the legend, ATP star Grigor Dimitrov opened up on a heartwarming story involving him and his family, that exemplifies Federer’s compassionate nature.

Dimitrov shares adorable tale involving Roger Federer and his family
A book named ‘The Roger Federer Effect’, written by journalists Simon Cambers and Simon Graf was released last year. In it, Bulgarian tennis star Grigor Dimitrov shed some light on the close relationship he shares with Federer, his wife Mirka, and their kids. “I mean, I can only say good things about that and for him and his family. They’ve always been very nice to me, very generous. And I even remember I read his kids a book at night a few times. That was a fun thing in New York. Mirka’s always been very nice to me and I think everyone from his whole team has too, so I have only good to say on that.”, an excerpt from the book mentioned him as saying.

Grigor Dimitrov was once touted to be the next Federer
Dimitrov made his debut as a professional in 2008 and was quick to get noticed by the fans, pundits, and other players. Soon, he was nicknamed ‘Baby Fed’ because of his on-court skills and super elegant style of play, resembling the Swiss maestro himself. His Federer-esque serve and single-handed backhand were enough to draw comparisons with the great Roger Federer.
Being compared to a legend is a compliment in itself, it gets increasingly difficult to handle the pressure and live up to the expectations of constantly being mentioned in the same sentence as someone as great as Federer. And that is exactly what happened to him.
