The entire Middleton family is usually a regular presence in the Wimbledon Championships. Back in 2017, Kate Middleton revealed a funny story about the time she attended the tournament with her parents.
Kate Middleton’s father calls a player by the wrong name
In an interview with BBC, Kate Middleton revealed a funny story from her visit to the Wimbledon Championships. After watching a match of American legend Pete Sampras, Kate’s father walked past former British number one Tim Henman. However, it appears that whilst Michael had tried to play it “cool” he accidentally mistook Tim’s name, calling him Pete.
“My father is not going to appreciate this, but we were walking past Tim Henman and we had just seen Sampras play. My dad said very coolly: ‘Hi Pete’. I was mortified!” she said.
We’re sure the Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club has recovered from her embarrassment, as she has been a constant presence in the Royal Box almost every year in the past decade.

Roger Federer attends the Wimbledon Championships 2022
To the disappointment of fans, eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is not playing this year. However, the 40-year-old did make a special appearance on the grass-courts of Wimbledon, albeit in a different attire. Notably, on the occasion of the 100-year anniversary of the Centre Court, Wimbledon invited many celebrities and former champions. Unsurprisingly, the Swiss maestro was also invited.

The 40-year-old has been out of the tour for more than a year now. After undergoing knee surgery, the 20-time Major winner has announced that he will return to action with the Laver Cup later this year. After the Laver Cup, he will officially return to the tour with Swiss Indoors in Basel.
