Monfils has been long labeled as a player with impeccable talent. He is known to keep things simple on the court. Moreover, his athletic ability adds another dimension to his game.

However, it has been a situation of ‘so near, yet so far’ for the Frenchman. He has managed a couple of semifinal finishes at French Open and US Open apart from numerous other quarterfinal finishes at Grand Slams. He further added, “I won’t win 20, but one time, just one time I need and you know I’m working for this. I still believe I can do it. It’s hard, it’s been 20 years that I’m not doing the good thing but who knows, this year it might click and that’s a happy end.”
