And even though he played only three matches, he was responsible for turning the heat up in Melbourne Park. Looking back at his journey, the Australian said he’ll be back next year.

Kyrgios says he’s here for a good time, not a long time

Coming back from a 13-month break is never easy for an athlete. However, Nick Kyrgios, 25, entered Melbourne Park with the same strong attitude that he had left with.

In his first match, the Australian star hit 14 aces to book a straight-set win against Frederico Ferreira Silva. His combustible playing style set the home crowd on fire.

However, meeting the Austrian World No. 3 Dominic Thiem, Kyrgios filled the need of the hour. He entertained the crowd, competed on his highest level, and also brought the best out of his opponent.

Although he lost after a 2-0 set lead, Nick was a winner in many other aspects. Recently, he shared a video of his journey at the Australian Open 2021 stating that he will be back again.

“Peace Melbourne, I’ll be dancing around there next year. I’m here for a good time not a long time,” Kyrgios wrote.
