Recently, the British tennis player, Andy Murray, shared his take on the same concern and made a strong point regarding Wimbledon’s participation.

Andy Murray talks about the Russian players’ potential return?

In a recent conversation with BBC Sport. The 35-year-old tennis player shared his take. He is quite positive and expects the Wimbledon organizers will allow Russian and Belarusian players to participate in the third Grand Slam of the year after a disappointing ban last year.

He said, “It?s a really difficult one and I do feel for the players who weren?t able to play last year. But I also understand the situation and why it?s really hard for Wimbledon to make a call on it as well.”

Further, he also shared his excitement if the ban is lifted. “My understanding is that they are going to be allowed to play. And I?m not going to be going nuts if that is the case. But if Wimbledon went down another route, I would be understanding of that,” he added.

However, last year, the British tennis player faced a lot of backlash for taking a neutral stance regarding the same concern.

The three-time Grand Slam champion stated that he did not fully support Wimbledon’s decision. But he also made an understatement about how it’s not easy for the people who work at Wimbledon to make such a huge decision. Nevertheless, he stated on his part that he was not on either side of the argument. Last year, he clearly made his point and supported the players after explaining the actual scenario to the world.

He shared that there are bigger concerns to take care of. It was pointed out that tennis players not getting a chance to play in the tennis tournament was not that big of an issue in the fuller picture.
