Frances Tiafoe is siding with Roger Federer in the Goat debate

In the functional tennis podcast, World no.31 player, Frances Tiafoe talked about Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic in great detail. He praised all three players for their great achievements. Especially, he praised Rafa for his outstanding comeback at the Australian Open final against Daniil Medvedev.

“Rafael Nadal is crazy. 21 Grand Slams and to do what he did, 2 sets down and 3-2 0-40 in the third, we’re talking about three match points. He gets broken and it is over. He knew it and everybody knew it. To do it at the age of 35, the dude was talking about quitting tennis, bro,” Tiafoe said.

Tiafoe also talked about Novak Djokovic and his outstanding achievements in this sport. “Then look at what Novak is doing. Deciding the GOAT is hard, man. Obviously, Novak is going to do his stuff, but whatever ends up happening. He could have like 25. He’s not slowing down at all. Pick your poison, I guess.” Tiafoe further said.

Speaking about the Goat debate, Tiafoe said, “t’s tough, but I’m still going with Roger Federer. You can paint a whole picture with what he has — stupid good service, can play all the shots, makes the game look so easy, and is a great ambassador for the sport.”

Before the Australian Open, Rafa, Roger, and Novak, all were 20 Grand Slam titles. However, Rafa broke that tie, as he won his 21st Grand Slam title in Australia this year. Due to the vaccination controversy, Novak Djokovic didn’t get the chance to play and Roger Federer is already recovering from an injury.
