Now that there are only hours left for the Wimbledon championship to start, the Spaniard is training hard for it. Yesterday, a special guest and Nadal’s good friend was present to watch him prepare for the grass court Grand Slam.
Gerard Pique attends Nadal’s Practice season
While the 36-year-old tennis star was sweating it out, eying his third Slam title this year, his friend and fellow Spaniard Gerard Pique paid him a visit.

Gerard Pique is known for his love for tennis and in particular his friendship with Rafael Nadal. The FC Barcelona central defender has a soft spot for tennis and regularly attends the tournaments. He is also a big fan of Nadal. Pique is in London for a holiday weekend with his two sons, Milan and Sascha.

Notably, the footballer is the founder and president of Kosmos Holding, a sports and media investment group. He struck a $3 billion partnership with the International Tennis Federation to transform the Davis Cup. It shows his passion for the game of tennis.

Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic are considered the best tennis players of all time. The three have always been in a tight competition with each other. As the Wimbledon Championship is going to start soon, one player who comes to everyone’s mind is Swiss maestro Roger Federer. Being the most successful of the three in the grass court Grand Slam, a reporter asked Nadal about the Federer’s impact on his career.

Replying to the question, the 35-year-old recalled how they share an old rivalry, en route which they have helped each other to bring out the best of themselves.

“In the tennis, the last 15 -20 years be without thinking about the rivalry that we have because we have been playing in every big stadium. We shared court, fighting for the most important things and I think in some way we push each other,” he said.
Further, the 22-time Grand Slam champion said that he always gets his motivation from within, but it helps to do better if you keep competing with someone better than you.
