The disappointments for the Greek tennis team are heaping up as we speak. Stefanos Tsitsipas who resembled one of the fabled Greek heroes of antiquity faced an uphill battle to keep up with health and fitness avenues.

His Wimbledon campaign ended in an ignominious defeat which placed a question mark before his Olympics prognosis. The legendary tennis star has proclaimed that his sole ambition in the next season would be one of redemption. However, his recent decision to opt out of a major competition has unnerved even the staunchest fan.

Lately, Stefanos Tsitsipas has suffered one harrowing defeat after another. Despite the setbacks, the Greek tennis hero is one of the titular characters in the sport’s current narrative.

However, in a sudden Hollywood twist, Stefanos Tsitsipas decided to withdraw from the ATP Finals in Turin. Once the news reached the public via Tennisuptodate, it spread like wildfire and caused a murmur to break out. It was especially surprising considering the latest bold claims from Tsitsipas.

 

He recently said, “I want to obviously bring an Olympic medal back to my country, that is a goal of mine…I want to win a Grand Slam title [in 2024], that is also a goal of mine”. The tennis world was expecting him to follow up on this self-same promise by winning the Australian Open in 2024. But, Stefanos Tsitsipas has other designs for the contention, saying, “For sure, in order for me to do these things I need to be healthy because there was a time this season where certain circumstances didn’t allow me to perform at 100 per cent”. This decision as well as developments in his personal life have complicated the view of Tsitsipas’ potential for most fans.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ relationship with Paula Badosa under scrutiny

Stefanos Tsitsipas has entered into a relationship with Spanish tennis star Paula Badosa. Both the athletes have suffered major setbacks on the courts of Wimbledon in 2023. But this has not held them back from showing off their romance on social media. Bardosa has shared pictures from their love-filled date night with the caption, “My man”.
