Roger Federer, as much as he is known as a legend in tennis, is equally renowned for his love for his family. After his retirement in 2022, we haven’t seen the Swiss Maestro play tennis, but we have seen him making surprise appearances at various events, often with his family. As he is off the court now, he focuses on spending time with his two sets of twins. But he isn’t the only one in the Federer family who has welcomed twins into the world. His sister, Diana, also has twins, keeping up with the unique history of the Swiss Maestro’s family’s lineage.

Fans have seen the former number 1 upload many videos of the days he spends with his family. However, not many have noticed a particular theme that carries on in the Federer family.

Federer is mostly known to the world as a legendary tennis player. But the Swiss Maestro is also a family man, and it is now the most important aspect of his life. Mirka and Roger Federer now are completely focused on their two sets of twin children, Myla and Charlene, and Lenny and Leo. While he is often seen enjoying traveling the world with his wife and children, there is one peculiar thing about the family of six.

Federer’s family has two identical sets of twins. An identical set of twins is a rarity; two sets of identical twins are an even extraordinary occurrence. Statistically, the odds of having identical twins is 1 in 250. But, the probability of having another set of twins is much smaller, 1 in 70,000! That’s approximately 0.0014%!

Do twins run in Roger Federer’s family?

Diana, unlike Federer, had non-identical twins. Emilie Zoe Federer and Ramon Vincent Federer are Diana’s twin children. While it is quite rare for siblings to have twins, the chances increases considerably if it runs in the family. The Federer family has twins going all the way back to the Swiss Maestro’s maternal grandmother, who was a twin. Federer’s mother, Lynette, was the next twin in the line. Her twin sister went on to have twins of her own.
